Gang is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Michalak Lab. His research interests focus on 1) surface water remote sensing, 2) climate impacts on water resources, and 3) extreme event assessments. Recently, Gang has been working on the evaluation of how inland climate change will affect coastal eutrophication by leveraging remote sensing and modeling techniques. Gang received his B.S. in Environmental Science in 2012 from Nankai University, and his M.S. (2014) and Ph.D. (2018) in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University. His Ph.D. work addresses the issues related to global open water evaporation by fusing modeling and remote sensing approaches. He has always been fascinated by large scale geospatial analysis using cloud computing platforms.
